What is the VTVLC?
VTVLC serves as a virtual school by connecting students with teachers employed at Vermont schools who facilitate online, formal education programs. Using award winning curriculum from a variety of providers, VTVLC students have control over elements of time, path and place while using technology to connect with their teachers for more flexibility and successful learning. VTVLC also serves schools with a variety of educational support services.
Example 1: Partnering SchoolsVermont schools that provide a contribution to the Cooperative to cover administrative costs (i.e. recruitment, LMS oversight, technical assistance, professional development, etc.) and provide at least one qualified instructor that teaches a program or course that is offered by VTVLC will earn 25 seats in the total offerings of the Cooperative for that school year. Partnering schools will be allowed to have “in-house” students in the offered course(s) originating from their location with the understanding that the total class size will not exceed 25 student participants for both in-house and online students. There will be no tuition costs for the students of a partnering school.
Example 2: Non-partnering Vermont SchoolsStudents of Vermont schools that are not members in the Cooperative may enroll students in programs and/or courses offered by VTVLC after the priority enrollment date (currently May 17th) with the understanding that the tuition will be assessed to their district in the amount of $300 per .5 credit.
Example 3: Non-partnering, Non-Vermont SchoolsNon-Vermont Schools and organizations may enroll students in programs and/or courses offered by the VTVLC after the priority enrollment date (currently May 17th) on a space available basis and will be charged tuition in the amount of $450 per .5 credit. Schools may choose to pay on behalf of their students or students may choose on an individual basis.
