We woke up to rain and clouds today. We were all a little disappointed to have a dismal, rainy day, especially seeing it was our final day on the boat, but the locals were very excited as it was the first rain they had gotten in months, and they were happy to fill their cisterns. Did you know that on Little Cayman, their main source of drinking water and any water needed in general, is reliant on rain? They have massive filtration systems to make the rainwater safe to drink.
After braving the waves and rain our group was back to collecting data for our REEF fish identification survey. We even got to see a canon from the 1800s.

After the boat, we hurried back to the station to take showers and warm up. After lunch, the rain stopped, so we headed out to do a beach clean-up. We were all surprised at how much trash was on the beach, and we quickly ran out of garbage bags.
